-Tubeless motocross tires
have been around for 20 years (on works
bikes), but they have never seen the cash
register side of a motorcycle shop. Why?
Making a tubeless motocross tire was too
complicated. It required a special rim
(to keep the air lock tight), a rubber
sealing bladder (to eliminate leakage around
the spoke nipples) and messy sealant (to
keep sidewall flex from burping air pressure).
The problem areas were so numerous that most
companies shelved the idea of tubeless motocross
tires—except for Nuetech!

One thing that really is in
need in our sport, is a reliable and
efficient answer to punctures. The new
TUBIiss system could just be the answer. The
best description is that it is a pneumatic
rim lock which secures the , bead to the rim
and thereby eliminates the need for a tube.
Your wheel becomes tubeless.

The
Nuetech Tubliss Tire core is a lull
circumference pneumatic rim lock that secures
the entire tire bead to the rim and completely
eliminates using a conventional tube. lt's
lighter (up to 3 pounds), eliminates pinch flats
(with no tube you’ve got nothing to pinch). is
basically flat-proof. when used with a tire
sealant. Sealants can't work on tubes where
holes in the rubber stretch and tear With
Tubllss, your sealant works directly on the
tire, where it matters. The result is No More
Flats! Read

This
product has really impressed me more and more as
l‘ve come to understand it better and learnt to
deal with its little quirks — yup, every product
has them. Apparently the TUBIiss system has been
voted Product of the Year by
some overseas magazines and Motocross Action
rated it a **6 Star" product (out of 5) — I can
really understand why To be honest I was not
impressed with it the first time we tried it
out, We fitted it to an MX bike rear wheel and
could not get the tyre to bead properly, so it
kept leaking and we eventually gave up on the
TUBIiss. Turned out it was a lousy tyre.

Before I was allowed to take
possession of this trick looking bit of
7075Aerospace grade billet aluminium, I had to
make one promise to Daniel from Roc Stompa. That
being that I would use the term "Dampener", and
not Damper as used by some manufacturers. His
view is that the Stompa product is not bread,
and hence not a "damper". I can certainly see
the logic in that!

When you are riding your bike
the last thing you think of is the condition and
type of footpeg you have, but when you find your
feet getting knocked off the pegs and ruts, or
you are flapping of the back of the bike
climbing hills, maybe you should think a bit
more about them.
